Early 2020, Tim Kreukniet (CEO) and Mohamed Boussama (CTO), met at Antler. Mohamed comes from a farmers family in Tunisia, where they already faced labor shortages. Tim has worked 10 years in the EV charging space and wanted to move beyond CO2 reduction into creating healthy ecosystems. After interviewing 100+ farmers, it became clear; farmers need extra hands on the field, especially for weeding. Antler funded the idea and Trabotyx was born.
Flash forward to 2023, the team has grown to 8FTE. The first hectares are being weeded and farmers are willing to pay. In 2024 we will weed 50+ HA in various crops and take our first international steps.
