About us

​Early 2020, Tim Kreukniet (CEO) and Mohamed Boussama (CTO), met at Antler. Mohamed comes from a farmers family in Tunisia, where they already faced labor shortages. Tim has worked 10 years in the EV charging space and wanted to move beyond CO2 reduction into creating healthy ecosystems. After interviewing 100+ farmers, it became clear; farmers need extra hands on the field, especially for weeding. Antler funded the idea and Trabotyx was born. 

​Flash forward to 2023, the team has grown to 8FTE. The first hectares are being weeded and farmers are willing to pay. In 2024 we will weed 50+ HA in various crops and take our first international steps.

​Tim comes with 10+ years of cleantech and entrepreneurial experience in both Netherlands and the US. He has a strong focus on customer succes and revenue. Tim is absolutely amazed by the level of ingenuity, pragmatism and endurance farmers display every day as they create the healthy food that we eat.

​Mohamed is the brain of the company. With 10+ years in the aerospace industry he is applying his understanding of complex systems to agricultural robots. Mohamed comes from a Tunisian farmers family, where he witnessed first hand how cost and access to labor made it impossible to run a profitable farm.

We want to apply the progress in machine learning and robotics  to the field of agriculture with 3 specific goals: 

• Improve the profitability of farmers
• Increase biodiversity
• Restore soil

A roadmap of success...

• Got our first investment from Antler.
  
• Got accepted into the ESA-SBIC program and EIT Food program.

• Investment round of EUR 560k from BOM, A-list Angels from Cleantech and Agriculture.
• First robot operated autonomously, but pivoted to fully focus on weed removal.
• Opened R&D office in Tunis, expanded team to 5FTE.

• Adopted a drilling mechanism that showed 70% efficiency in POC.
• WUR tested our detection system, we see nearly everything in real-time.

• Added 805k in investment from BOM and A-list Angels.
• We weeded 4.5 hectares and got paid by 4 different pilot farm.
• In good conditions, our system performs better than humans.​
